Local Needs

Prayers for Local Needs

Education, for pupils and staff in local play groups, schools, colleges and libraries; also for parents, foster carers, social workers and probation officers.

Health Care, for doctors, nursing and auxiliary staff in medical centres and special clinics, nursing homes, etc; for hospices.

Community Care, for those who live and those who work in residential homes and sheltered accommodation; for the people who provide and receive counselling, CRUSE, Relate, the Samaritans; for the work of NCH Action for Children.

Public Order, for the armed forces, the police, the civic authorities, emergency services and all who serve on statutory bodies; for magistrates, and others who administer justice; the prison service; for victims of crime and their families; for everyone in society to work for better security and safety.

Essential Utilities, for those who provide the local supplies of water, gas and electricity; for postal, telephone, road and rail facilities, air and sea communications; for banking and other professional services.

Media Channels, for the preserving of good standards in publishing and broadcasting; local newspapers, radio, television and the internet.

Industry, for builders, miners, office workers, labourers and manufacturers, for farmers, food producers and processors; for caterers, hoteliers, etc.

Voluntary Sector and others, for people who offer time and skills in the WRVS, and other charitable bodies; who serve as youth leaders for Scouts, Guides, Youth Clubs, Boys and Girls Brigade; for people who care for the elderly, hospital visitors, who help in counselling victims of crime ...... for the retired, and those unable to find employment.
